The FRNKOW Quarantini

You can surely imagine that in 2020 the whole FRNKOW team has spent a lot of time in the studio. Working on the first collection and because there were not so many other things you could do this year.

The studio became our second home, we did not only work here but also invited friends to hang out on our terrace and garden, eat and drink. And when it comes to drinking, that’s where I get creative.

Nadja and Frank love Campari, I for my part prefer whisky, so I started combining both Campari and whisky with different liquors and ingredients – some combinations didn’t work, some complemented each other quite well – and I ended up with a mix with sweet vermouth and I gave it the name The FRNKOW Quarantini. As the team loved it, it became our signature drink in the studio.

The FRNKOW Quarantini is very easy to make, but with a complex taste of smokey and fresh notes

The FRNKOW Quarantini is made with Campari, sweet vermouth, whisky and freshly pressed orange juice. The first two ingredients come from a Negroni but I chose whisky instead of gin to give the drink a more smokey, intense and complex taste. The freshly pressed orange juice brings some more fresh and fruity notes into the Quarantini.

For me, the FRNKOW Quarantini is the perfect drink for wet and cold winter days.

3cl Campari
3cl whisky
3cl sweet vermouth
1,5cl fresh orange juice
1 orange twist
1 cinnamon stick

Give two big ice cubes into a lowball glass and add the Campari, whisky, sweet vermouth and fresh orange juice. Stir and add the orange twist and cinnamon stick.
