Parkhotel Mondschein in Bolzano
The Parkhotel Mondschein is impressive even from the outside: a historic building – built in 1330 and expanded in 1860 in Belle Époque style – surrounded by a quiet, green park in the middle of the beautiful old town of Bolzano. Now, after 5 months of renovation, it also makes a great impression from the inside.
The South Tyrolean capital of Bolzano is one of the most popular destinations in the Italian Alps, not only because of its location surrounded by breathtaking mountains, but especially because of its bicultural history with German/Austrian and Italian influences.
The Parkhotel Mondschein, with its listed building with the iconic white window shutters, elegant stucco decorations and majestic palm trees, offers a beautiful contrast to the lively hustle and bustle in the streets of the old town.
In the 2022 renovation, the interior was designed in an elegant mid-century style. The color world in green, gray and brown tones is adapted to the surrounding mountains, which can be admired directly from the windows. The 76 rooms were furnished with a focus on minimalism and subtle elegance with the highest quality.
We wanted to create a place where people can relax and take a break. You don’t need a lot for that, but the little you do has to be superb!

The retro design is contrasted by modern art – paintings and photographs by the artists Irene Fernandez Arcas and Karla Hiraldo Voleau – which was created as part of an artist-in-residency program and can be found in all rooms and the Luna Bar.
Breakfast is served a la carte in the iconic Luna Bar. Coffee, porridge, and eggs are offered in old silver service that has belonged to the hotel for generations but has fallen into disuse in the recent decades. At lunchtime there are regional snacks and in the evening the Luna Bar turns into a cocktail bar. Many Bolzano locals mingle with the hotel guests at lunchtime and in the evenings, a proof of the reputation of the bar within the city.

The Parkhotel Mondschein has its own yoga studio called arise, which can be used individually by each hotel guest. The hotel also works with various yoga instructors to offer a variety of different yoga practices and qigong classes. There is also a gym and a sauna made of aspen wood.
