KLEOCO Tablewear – hap ceramics – ALIGHIERI jewellery

The last year couldn’t have been more different from any other year before. A global pandemic that made us stay at home for weeks, stopped most of our social contacts and shut down the economy. And it initiated a change of our minds. We now focus more on what is really essential. We support our locals and buy things we really want and not just things we think we want.

Even in normal times it’s hard for small brands to remain in the market – Covid made that even harder. That’s why it is so important to support small labels. We need them because they’re the ones who are innovative, creative and forerunners in sustainability. So we decided to make this year’s gift guide with independent brands which we think are worth getting attention and support!

So we decided to make this year’s gift guide with independent brands which we think are worth getting attention and support!

01

KleoCo

The clean and unagitated design makes KleoCo tablewear so remarkable. The plates, cups and bowls stand for the brand’s functional, modern and simple touch. KleoCo was founded by Murat and Aslı Şahin Atasever in 2012 and is based in Antalya/Turkey. They’re shipping worldwide.

02

Alighieri

Rosh Mahtani studied French and Italian before she launched her jewellery brand Alighieri in 2014 and its more than obvious that she was inspired by Dante’s “Devine Comedy”. Each piece corresponds to one of the famous Italian poet’s 100 poems and tells a little story itself – not only because of their imperfectness.

03

Atelier Paolo

Paolo is a France-based design studio focusing on textile goods — The low-waste hand tufted tapestries collection is the starting point and the core for the brand. They’re all handmade by Paolo’s creator Guillaume in Toulouse/France. He gives yarn scraps from textile industries a second life and integrates them in his tapestries.

FRNKOW Slip 01

Talking about small, independent labels, we should not forget to mention ourselves. Did you know that the FRNKOW Slip 01‘s fabric is developed and produced in Germany and made of organic cotton? This ripped cotton fabric gives it a luxurious and soft touch while it keeps everything tight and where it belongs. It comes with a beautiful little dust bag made in our Studio and if one it not enough, don’t hesitate to get our two-pack.

05

hap

The person behind hap is Maxi Hoffmann who seems to have the pottery in her veins as her mother was a potter back in the 80s. However, it took 28 years, a job as a Marketing Manager and some years in Christchurch (New Zealand), Graz, Amsterdam and London until she laiunched her own brand in Düsseldorf/Germany. The candle holder with its little and big craters reminds us of a little volcano and we appreciate this organic silhouette. Every candle holder comes with 2 white dripping candles of conceptual designer Malte van der Meyden.

06

Guy Morgan

At the age of 22 Guy Morgan founded his skincare brand in East London where each bottle is hand blend in his own studio. Guy Morgan avoids unnecessary ingredients and only sources organic, vegan, and wild-grown ingredients. His products are made for all genders, race, and ages and come in beautiful, decent glass jars.
