Independent Brands with an Outstanding Sense for Design, Uniqueness and Quality

gift guide by Philipp

Last year we made a little gift guide for Christmas to support small, independent brands, because it was the small brands that suffered the most from Covid. Well, one year has passed, but things haven’t really changed, it’s still hard for them to remain in the market.

So this year we continue the journey we started last year and make it a new annual tradition. We introduce you to independent brands we think are extraordinary and visionary. What combines them is their outstanding sense for design, uniqueness and quality.

01

Pigmentarium

Communicating with the world through fragrances – that’s the philosophy of Pigmentarium founded by the creative duo Jakub F. Hiermann (“the nose” who studied perfumery in London) and Tomas Ric (creative strategist of the brand). Besides their great perfumes, we fell in love with the Incense Sticks placed in the spectacular Incense Altar, designed by Daniel Piršč. They enhance every room – not just with their scent, but also visually.

02

Casa de Coca

Transferring the spirit of the great but submerged Inka culture into a scent – that was Beatrice Graf’s goal when she founded Casa de Coca. The result are three high class fragrances, each representing a different part of Inka culture. CHASQUI, for instance, is a tribute to the couriers of the Inca, for whom the coca leaf served as a source of energy. The scent represents the energy and intense aura that envelops the courier during his fast-paced runs through nature. Elements from the sea, the jungle and the Andes come together in a unique blend.

03

Le Gramme

Industrial Designer Erwan Le Louër founded Le Gramme in 2013 as a jewelry brand for men where each object is named by its weight in grams. The creations get their strength from their minimal form, from the free field they open by their capacity to accumulate in order to create their own language. The Entrelacs Medal La 1g is made in France and combines a polished 925 sterling silver necklace with a 750 yellow gold pendant.

04

FRNKOW – Nocturne “Black Sweater”

Being casual, but in an elegant way – with our beautiful and cozy Nocturne “Black Sweater” made with organic cotton. It is perfect for cozy days at home as well as for daily life, for example in combination with a shirt or elegant pants. The silhouette is oversized, the shoulders are dropped and when the light hits the right ancle, you can see the subtle FRNKOW embroidery.

05

Cradle Studio

The highest quality and sustainability – these are the big buzzwords for Cradle Studio, a brand for home textiles based in Munich and Stuttgart. Starting with the cotton yarn until the final product, Cradle Studio guarantees full transparency in every part of the value chain. For the production of this beautifully manufactured blanket they used solar power.

06

MARIE c.

Inspired by the Alps and their nature of forcing oneself to live in the moment, MARIE c. combines an edgy yet feminine style with high-quality materials and offers timeless statement pieces for the fashionable people. All of the products are designed by founder Christina Marie Kiker herself and handmade in Europe. The organically shaped MOMENT BRACELET is crafted from fine silver with a high-polished finish.
